Professional Development Highlights
Woodland Charter School Faculty 2017-18

Woodland Charter School is deeply committed to providing professional development funds for faculty, in order to deepen their understanding of Waldorf-methods education in the public sector. We have provided funds/support for the following teacher activities:

 

Grade Five – Mr. Wilt

  • Completed the Millenial Child online second grade refresher course in August 2014. This refresher included many hours of curriculum work, artistic work, lesson planning and working with families.
  • Attended the Faculty Retreat for two days in August
  • Attended the onsite professional development day for Common Core Standards Mapping/Planning and First Amendment Rights, in August
  • Attended the one day Oregon Public Waldorf Consortium’s conference in Eugene in October 2014
  • Attended The Spatial Dynamics Institute training in Portland, OR in October (first year of a five year training)
  • Attended the Western Waldorf Teachers’ Conference in Sacramento, CA in February
  • Attended The Spatial Dynamics Institute training in Portland, OR in March 2015 (second year of a five year training)

  • Completed monthly webinars and assignments for the Waldorf Hybrid training program from September – May
  • Completed three weekend workshops for the Waldorf Hybrid Training Program (each three days) in Chico, CA, and Los Angeles, CA
  • Attended the one day Oregon Public Waldorf Consortium’s conference in Eugene in October 2014
  • Attended the one day Hoffecker Burgess “Waldorf 101” workshop in November
  • Attended the one day Mandala Center for Change “Diversity and Inclusion” workshop in November for teachers
  • Attended the Smarter Balanced testing training at TRSD in Murphy, OR, in January
  • Completed practicum hours for a Masters Degree in Special Education from Feb-June 2015
