Woodland Application

 

Physical Education Teacher

Woodland Charter School, a Public Waldorf school, is seeking a vibrant physical education teacher for a half time position in 2016-17 that could potentially become a 3/4 or full time position in 2017-18. Our highly successful school continues to grow every year, serving children throughout Grants Pass and the Applegate Valley. 

We seek a warm, lively individual to join our harmonious Faculty Council, where we enjoy a pleasant collegial atmosphere. In the coming year, this teacher will be working with grades 3-8 to integrate the movement curriculum with the main lesson curricula for each grade.

Our rural school, which opened in October 2012 with 60 students, expects an enrollment of 200 students in September 2017 in grades 1- 8. Our curriculum includes the following special subjects: Spanish Language, Music (includes choral singing and string instruments), Handwork, Woodworking, Block Eurythmy, and Games/Movement.

Spanish Teacher

Woodland Charter School is seeking a Spanish Language teacher for the 2017-18 school year and/or to finish the 2016-2017 school year.

The applicant must have a World Languages or Spanish Language endorsement with a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Oregon licensure is required, and we will assist those who need to seek reciprocity. Waldorf Teacher Training in World Languages or Spanish is optimal and can be paid for with professional development funds. The Spanish Language position is a part time position but may grow to a 3/4 or full time position in the 2017/18 school year.

Spanish Language is taught to all students, grades 1-8, two days per week throughout the school year. The teacher attends the Faculty Council meeting weekly. The Spanish teacher works a four-day week, Monday through Thursday. Professional development funds are available.

Grades Teacher

Woodland Charter School, in beautiful Murphy, Oregon, is seeking  dynamic grades teachers for the 2017-2018 school year. We seek teachers to join our faculty of main lesson teachers (and special subjects teachers) in a public Waldorf-methods 1st through 8th grade charter school. Our curriculum includes the following special subjects: Spanish Language, Music (includes choral singing and string instruments), Handwork, Woodworking, Games/Movement and Gardening.

We are seeking imaginative, skillful, and confident Lead Teachers at Woodland Charter School. Lead teachers will be employed full-time and will be responsible for teaching main lesson, skills practice, and special subjects to grade level classes. Ideally, grades teachers will take their classes through the 8th grade.

Lead Teacher qualifications:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in an education related major

• Waldorf teaching certification or willingness to enroll in a Waldorf training program

• Oregon certification or registration with the TSPC, or the ability to be certified or registered

• Enthusiastic, creative, and loving with students

• Skill in art, music, drama, spatial dynamics, and/or foreign language

• Ability to work well with colleagues, administration, and parents
