Emma Bartelt

(Dragonfly Class, 4th Grade)

Emma Bartelt was born and raised in Wisconsin and journeyed to Southern Oregon in August 2016 and began teaching the Dragonfly Class. Emma received her B.S. in Elementary, Environmental, and Natural Broadfield Sciences Education at the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point in 2015. She recently completed her Waldorf Teacher Training Program through the Tomorrow River Community Charter School in Amherst, Wisconsin and received her Waldorf certificate in the summer of 2019. What drew Emma to Woodland Charter School was the school’s location, vision and dreams. Born and raised on a free-range farm, Emma hopes and looks forward to when Woodland adopts even more sustainable, farm-based methods and practices of stewarding its beautiful campus, especially animal husbandry. During Emma’s free time she enjoys secluded time in nature, live music, reflective writing, meditation, and collecting rocks. Emma aspires to instill a boundless appreciation for love, beauty, and the natural world in her students while teaching them mindful leadership skills and cognitive empathy.
