Woodland Charter School, located in the beautiful Siskiyou Mountains of southwest Oregon, seeks to hire outstanding educators to join our wonderful staff and learning community. WCS is in its 7th year of offering a public Waldorf curriculum to the greater Grants Pass community. We have eight stand-alone classes, first through eighth grade, with a current average class size of 22 students, and a traditional maximum class size of 25 students. Our lovely rural campus continues to expand, as we added four new classrooms in 2017 to meet the growing needs of our vibrant learning community, which includes a dedicated music room, handwork room, and resource room. Class Teacher – Middle School Loop

Woodland Charter School is a public Waldorf charter school nestled in the beautiful Siskiyou Mountains in Murphy, Oregon. Located in the vibrant southwest Oregon area which includes the towns of Ashland, Medford, Grants Pass, Applegate, and Williams. We have an immediate opening for a 7th grade Class Teacher for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year. We seek an excellent teacher to join our dynamic faculty who is not only versed with the Waldorf curriculum but can teach via Google Classroom, or has the technical skills to quickly adapt to this platform.

Our school, which opened in October 2012 hosts grades 1- 8, with a class size limit of 25. We have a beautiful 19-acre campus with many opportunities for outdoor exploration. Class teachers at Woodland Charter School loop with their students for two or more years. An ideal candidate would stay within our Upper (middle school) Loop, 6th-8th grade. As a public Waldorf school, teachers will be expected to meld the Waldorf curriculum with common core standards.

We are seeking a competent, imaginative, and joyful class teacher to join our wonderful faculty. Someone who will be a collaborative colleague and is passionate about public Waldorf education. 

Lead Teacher qualifications:

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably with an education-related major

• Waldorf teaching certification or commitment to enroll in an approved training program 

• Oregon teaching license or charter school registration 

• Enthusiastic, creative, and loving with students comingled with strong classroom management skills

• Ability to work well with colleagues, administration, and parents

Woodland Charter School is accepting applications for a part-time (3 hours per day) Flagger for the 2020-2021 school year. This position works at the beginning and end of the school day to help create a safe traffic environment.

Flagger qualifications:

  • Attend required flagger training to receive Flagger certification
  • Reliable and safety-minded
  • Willingness to work in all weather
  • Ability to work well with colleagues, administration, and parents
