Woodland Charter School, located in the beautiful Siskiyou Mountains of southwest Oregon, seeks to hire outstanding educators to join our wonderful staff and learning community. WCS is in its 7th year of offering a public Waldorf curriculum to the greater Grants Pass community. We have eight stand-alone classes, first through eighth grade, with a current average class size of 22 students, and a traditional maximum class size of 25 students. Our lovely rural campus continues to expand, as we added four new classrooms in 2017 to meet the growing needs of our vibrant learning community, which includes a dedicated music room, handwork room, and resource room. Woodland Charter School is accepting applications for a part-time (3 hours per day) Flagger for the 2019-2020 school year. This position works at the beginning and end of the school day to help create a safe traffic environment.

Flagger qualifications:

  • Attend required flagger training to receive Flagger certification

  • Ability to work well with colleagues, administration, and parents

Teacher Position

Woodland Charter School, a public Waldorf school located in beautiful Murphy, Oregon, is seeking a dynamic teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. We offer a competitive public-school teacher’s salary with annual step increases, and a benefits package that includes paid sick leave, medical, dental and vision coverage, the Oregon PERS pension plan and paid professional development.

Our school, which opened in October 2012, expects an enrollment of 200 students in September 2020, in grades 1- 8, with a class size limit of 25 students. Our Public Waldorf curriculum focuses on the whole child development and includes the following special subjects: Spanish Language, Music, Handwork, Games/Movement. We are in the second year of our internal Student Support Program which provides academic assistance to all students in our school. Our school week is Monday-Thursday and includes extra vacation time such as a week long February break and a 2-week Spring break.

We are seeking a competent, imaginative and skilled Lead Teacher.  Lead teachers will be employed full-time and will be responsible for teaching main lesson, skills practice and participating in our active school community.

The second phase of the interview process will include a visit to our school with a teaching demonstration and participation in other school related activities.

Lead Teacher qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in an education related major
  • Waldorf teaching certification or willingness to enroll in a Waldorf training program
  • Oregon teaching license or Charter school registration
  • Enthusiastic, creative, and loving with students
  • Ability to work well with colleagues, administration, and parents
