Lanie Jewell
(Handwork Teacher)
Lanie grew up sewing, embroidering, crocheting, and knitting. She loves handwork in all its many forms. She graduated from Rudolf Steiner College in Fair Oaks, CA in 2016 with a credential as a Handwork Teacher. She taught at A.M. Winn Public Waldorf School in Sacramento for 6 years. She loves seeing the children make beautiful and useful things and grow in their confidence and competence. Last year, she spent a school year teaching at Ak Lu’um Waldorf Community in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. That was an adventure! (She has a lot of stories about teaching in the jungle, just ask!! ) In her spare time, she loves to knit, listen to and see live music, swim, and spend time outdoors. Her two sons are grown and she is very proud of them! One has a Ph.D. and the other is getting a Master’s degree in Physics. She is looking forward to this new adventure here at Woodland Charter School.
