Michael Wilt

(Mountain Class, 7th Grade)

Michael Wilt joined Woodland Charter School in July 2013 as the 1st Grade / Mountain Class teacher. He has led the Mountain Class since that time, which is currently the 7th Grade. In 1993 Michael graduated with a B.A. in Geography from Humboldt State University, and went on to earn his public school teaching credential in 1996, also from Humboldt State. Michael’s first teaching experience was on the Hopi Reservation in northern Arizona, where he met his wife who introduced him to Waldorf education. Michael graduated with Waldorf certification from the Eugene Waldorf Teacher Training in 2005, after which he taught at Waldorf schools in Eugene, on Vancouver Island, and in New Jersey. Michael is passionate about camping, hiking, cycling, and all outdoor living and activities. He is an artist and an avid reader of Waldorf education and Anthroposophy. Michael’s wife, Jennifer, is a Waldorf kindergarten teacher. Michael and Jennifer have three children; the oldest recently graduated from the Berkshire Waldorf High School in Massachusetts, and the younger two are at home.
